Yacht Race to Exmouth builds new relationship with MG Kailis Seafood & Exmouth Wild Prawns

Fremantle Sailing Club (FSC) is thrilled to announce MG Kailis Seafood and Exmouth Wild Prawns as major sponsors for the 2021 Fremantle to Exmouth Race & Rally. “The opportunity to bring Exmouth, the water and sailing together is a perfect fit for our business and family. We look forward to local sailors having a great time and the Exmouth community benefiting from what will be a magnificent event next year and into the future”, commented Alex Kailis, Director of MG Kailis Seafood.

Mike Giles, FSC Chair of the Exmouth Race & Rally commented, “Out of all the numerous sponsorship deals we’ve negotiated, this has by far been one of the most gratifying. MG Kailis Seafood bring a wealth of experience, passion for Exmouth, the Western Australian Coastline, respect to our oceans and environment, and we are delighted as a Sailing Club to have them on board as our major sponsor.”

For over 55 years, leading West Australian fishing company, MG Kailis Seafood has been bringing some of the world’s best seafood to our tables. Founded in 1962, MG Kailis Seafood remains a proud family owned company.

Exmouth Wild Prawns are caught in the pristine waters of the Exmouth Gulf. They are highly sought after around the world for their quality, size and flavour. Pioneers in sustainable fishing, their operations work in harmony with the natural environment to protect the biodiversity in the waters they operate.

Run over a distance comparable to that of the Sydney-Hobart, the yacht race & rally is scheduled to start on Saturday 8th May 2021 from Fremantle Sailing Club. It will take competing sailors from the first chilly winds of our southern winter to the balmy warmth of Australia’s Coral Coast. Exmouth itself offers a smorgasbord of tourist attractions for the sailors, their families and accompanying parties. We believe that the status of the Fremantle to Exmouth Race & Rally will also grow in parallel with that of the Exmouth region.

“The Shire of Exmouth is looking forward to having this exciting and challenging offshore race & rally finish in the township of Exmouth and for the crews, officials and support teams involved to enjoy the very best of what Exmouth has to offer”, noted Cameron Woods, Chief Executive Officer of the Shire of Exmouth.
