Learn to Windsurf

Windsurfing is a great way to experience freedom and excitement on water. Irrespectively by their age, course participants have the opportunity to safely learn both theory and practical windsurfing aspects. Windsurfing will test and develop participant balance and reaction time in order to simultaneously control board and sail.

Cost

$250 for 4 day course 8.30am-12pm

Course Pre-requisite

  • Water confident 
  • 12 + years old
  • Adults welcome

Course Outcomes

This course give the fundamental skills to windsurfing and is the pathway course for the IQfoil windsurfing course run at Fremantle sailing club.

Like many sports, parents are an integral part of the learning and development process, they form a key link in the program and are encouraged to be involved from the outset. This course is the perfect opportunity for the family to decide if they would like to join the Club community.

  • Weather introduction 
  • Rigging sail and board 
  • Launch and return to beach
  • Uphauling
  • Windsurfing in a straight line
  • Tacking
