Club Events- This event has passed.
Fremantle Sailing Club (FSC) boats are asked to congregate near the entrance of the harbour at around 2.45pm (see fig 1 below) and join in the procession when the fishing boats start their second lap of the harbour.
The commercial fishing fleet will do 3 laps of the harbour. FSC boats are welcome to do the 2nd and 3rd lap.
The procession will move around the harbour in an anti-clockwise direction (see fig 2 below)
The procession will be led by the vessel Lady Madonna (the archbishop will be on this vessel). The second vessel will be Neptune. Both of these vessels will have the religious statues on board. These vessels will be followed by 4 or 5 other commercial fishing vessels. These vessels are large and lack the maneuverability of small vessels from Fremantle Sailing Club. Our skippers are asked to not get too close to the commercial fishing vessels for this reason.
The procession of fishing vessels will commence from the wharf area shown in Figure 2 (red dot) and proceed on the course shown (anti-clockwise direction).
There are fireworks after the blessing of the fleet and the Kitchen and Bar will open to 8pm and 10pm respectively for the day. Additionally the Wardroom bar will be open on Sunday from 5:30pm for members to enjoy the fireworks from the premium vantage point.
