Evolution of Mixed Gas Methods in Commerical Diving

Red coral has been used in Mediterranean jewellery since 77BC. In the 1800’s diving for the precious coral became the first commercial diving industry using compressed air which led to trigger the era of mixed gas diving to go below 50 metres.

All Club Members are invited to the November Dive Section meeting in the Bridge Room 1930 hours Wednesday 3rd November to hear an interesting talk by Claudio Del Deo.

Born on Ischia a small Island offshore of Naples (Italy) in the Mediterranean Sea into a family of 3 generations of commercial divers, Claudio has been a navy clearance diver, a saturation diver and is now actively involved as a marine scientist and as managing director of O2 METOCEAN, a highly specialised marine oceanographic consulting company. The team comprises oceanographers, coastal engineers and marine modellers.
