2022 Offshore Valmadre Cup Winter Series

Fremantle Sailing Club Winter Series offers all racing teams plenty of options to sail through our cooler months.

Valmadre Series is signature event with a long history starting back in 1907!
Originally the Valmadre Cup was the second race of the season and first raced for in 1 March 1908.
The race discontinued with the WW1, and the trophy ‘disappeared’. Out of the blue, in 1985, some 70 years later, the original Valmadre trophy re-appeared from Queensland.
The club paid $20 to get it back!

In 1987 Fremantle Sailing Club set up our Offshore Winter Series and named it the Valmadre Series, using the original trophy from 1908. (35 Years)
The series originally consisted of three races, the Arlene (June), Ensign (July) and the Mayflower (July).   The names from place getters in the original race in 1908.
Later, in 2007 an additional 4th race, the Voladora (August) was introduced, named after the last boat in the original 1908 race.

Our Keelboat Series also has a varied and long history with multiple formats and trophies over the years.

So, find your winter jacket and join our winter racing program, the clubhouse will have seasonal food, drink specials and entertainment.
